Q. What is it that we do?
We run fun and fundraising events. Our events play a part in St Johns unique community as well as raising money to help the school in a variety of ways.
This year we are trying a few new ideas too including each parent signing up to Easyfundraising – each purchase with Amazon, Tesco, Waitrose etc gives a % to St Johns

Q. Who is ‘we’?
All parents are asked to volunteer and help out.
Each year is coordinated by three class reps. Parents take it in turn to volunteer for this (estimated at less that an hour per week over the year!).
All the reps are coordinated by the Chairs of FOSJ. The Chairs agree activities in advance with the reps, agree the calendar and spending targets with the head. Currently the Chairs are Emma McNeely, Anna Sharp and Becky Osborn.
The Treasurer holds all the funds and pays all invoices as well as preparing our annual report for the Charities Commission.
Each year helps with the events that we put on – all coordinated by the reps. E.g. Year One runs the cafe at the Christmas Fair, Year Six takes the gate receipts t the Summer Fair.
Q. What don’t we do?
We do not input or answer questions about the school curriculum or general running of the school. Please ask the Head.
Q. What are our priorities?
We don’t have a charter as such, but here is a list of what we try to do:
– Put on fun things that parents and children like to do.
– Raise money for the school.
– Provide accurate dates of upcoming activities suitably far in advance
– Be transparent on what we spend any proceeds on and what any spending plans might be.
