Our Charities

At St John’s, we currently have three charities that we aim to support. Our younger children in EYFS and Key Stage 1, support charities connected to our three local churches. These include food banks, memory cafes and night shelters.

Our lower Key Stage 2 classes – Year3 and Year 4 – support the national charity GOSH charity. The children had a cote as to which national charity they would like to support and GOSH came out in front by a long way as the hospital is very close to many of our hearts. Lots of our children have been through the hospital at some point in their short lives so far and some are still under treatment.

Our upper Key Stage 2 class – Year 5 and Year 6 – chosen an international charity Goodwill Children’s homes. This is a Christian charity ran in India, for orphaned children. The children are took in from the streets, provided with a roof over their heads and given an education.

Through pupil voice, our children chose the charities they would like to support and are now planning ways in which way can raise both awareness for these charities but also the different ways in which they can fund raise.
