At St John’s we have a soft start policy for the beginning of the day.
At St John’s we have a soft start policy for the beginning of the day. This means that the school gates and classrooms open at 8.45am and close at 9am. A member of each year group staff team will be on the playground to welcome the children and another member will be in the classrooms. The earlier the children get into school the better, as teachers will use this time to support children with corrections from the previous days learning, or to challenge and extend learning.
The school gates close at 9am and registers are submitted to the school office at 9.05am. If your child arrives after 9am they will be marked as late. Persistent lateness will be addressed by the Head of School.
Playtimes and lunchtimes and lunch times differ for our Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 children.
