At St John’s Highbury Vale C of E Primary School, we develop and promote British Values throughout our school and within our curriculum.

As a Church of England School, we base our curriculum, teaching and learning on our school vision and values. Having these as a basis for all we do, enables the children to see why they are important to us, how they help us to be the people we are today, and encourage us to learn, grow and develop a strong learning culture with children who are motivated, engaged and reflective in all aspects of learning.

Within the parish of Highbury, St John's is supported by three local churches: Christ Church, St Augustine's and St Thomas's. The school is active within each of the churches and has weekly visits from one of our linked Vicars.

St John's Highbury Vale School works in conjunction with Teaching London: LDBS SCITT to recruit and train teachers on the School Direct programme leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).

The candidates must be in sympathy with the Christian ethos of the school.
